18 weeks and counting......

It's Chewy's 18th week today! 4 and 1/2 months, about halfway through, it sure does fly by. It's about 5.5 inches now from head to rump and moving about (though I have yet to feel the movement).

We bought a new car and are so excited to have a car that functions well and doesn't smell, the heater works and it's comfortable. It's a 1999 Saturn, we love it! It's such a relief to have a car of our own and to have given Michael's Mustang back to him. It was a marvelous favor but we were starting to feel as though we'd overstayed our welcome. Another happy note.....my Aunt Diane and Uncle Steve are the greatest, they are letting us pay minimum rent until Brian finds an actual job. He's been substituting at a local high school, and we are super great full for the income, but he's still searching hard for an engineering job.

I've been feeling much better these days and have been picking up shifts at the East West Cafe. It feels good to work and have energy. I still surprise myself by sleeping in until 10:30 or 11:00, I guess my body knows what it needs and I'm not going to question my laziness.
I am baffled by people's desire to share their birth/baby horror stories. If it's not one thing it's another. I tell someone I'm feeling really good and they tell me to enjoy the 2nd trimester because the 3rd is horrible. I tell them I'm excited to have the baby in the summer and they tell me it's going to suck because I'll be so hot when my belly is super huge. We won't even let people tell us their bad birth stories, if they start to talk about a birthing experience we cut them off and say we only care to hear the tale if it's an all around happy one. I wish they could keep their sad stories and lame experiences to themselves and let us create our own positive and satisfying experience. I told one friend we plan on using cloth diapers and she gave me this whole spiel about how you think you'll have the time and then you don't have any time and basically tried to tell me it wasn't a good idea. What do you think people have done for the last thousands of years?! They didn't have the convenience of throw away, land fill diapers, they used cloth and washed it! What a concept. Excuse my ranting.

I promised a picture of my belly bump and I'll post it soon, I also promised a link to our baby registry which I will also post soon.

We are super happy and healthy and wish you all the best. Thank you for your continual love and support, we are so blessed to have such an awesome family!
